Living THE Dream

This week in Grand Cayman, I got my freediving certification. It’s been one thing I have wanted to for a while!

I saw an octopus in the wild for the first time. Swam with sharks. Held my breath for 2 minutes and 45 seconds, my new personal record. Got my newest tattoo. And started pursuing my next world record.

And somewhere in the middle of all of it, I had this thought:

What if I am already living THE dream?

We spend so much of our lives dreaming about what is next.

THE next goal. THE next adventure. THE next accomplishment. THE next version of ourselves.

I love that about life. I never want to stop dreaming.

And… I have been noticing there is difference between dreaming about our lives and actually realizing when we are living the dreams we once dreamed.

No one taught us what to do once we arrived to the dream!

There was the version of me who had never freedived.

Who had never seen an octopus underwater.

Who had never held his breath for 2:45.

Who had not yet imagined going after this world record.

And now I am him.

Maybe growth is not always about immediately asking, “What is next?”

Sometimes growth is stopping long enough to say:

“Look at what is now.”

Keep dreaming. Keep growing. Keep creating your next dream.

And also sit inside the life you created and enjoy it. Of course there might be parts that you still have not reached, however I bet if you look a little deeper, you might be living the dream more than you think :) Enjoy it! Live it. Love it!

Because some of the things surrounding us today were once things we could only dream about.

Dreaming is beautiful.

Living THE dream is even better.

Make sure you notice when you are doing it!
