Letting Go to Move Forward

We all know the feeling.

The excitement. The possibility. The motivation.

The moment when something inside us says, "Let's go!"

Let's start the business.
Let's write the book.
Let's improve our health.
Let's grow the relationship.
Let's become more of who we are capable of being.

And... there is something interesting about "let's go" energy.

The moment we decide to go somewhere new, we are immediately asked to let go of something old.

We may have to let go of comfort.

We may have to let go of certainty.

We may have to let go of routines, habits, identities, excuses, or the security of knowing exactly what comes next.

Not forever. But temporarily.

Growth requires movement, and movement requires release.

The mountain climber lets go of one handhold before reaching for the next. The child lets go of training wheels before learning to ride. Every meaningful step forward asks us to loosen our grip on something familiar.

This is why growth often feels uncomfortable. We are trying to move forward while holding on to everything behind us.

The truth is simple: we cannot fully embrace the new while refusing to release the old.

So the next time you feel that powerful "let's go" energy, ask yourself one important question:

"What do I need to let go of in order to go?"

Because every new chapter begins with both the decision to move forward and the willingness to release what is keeping us where we are.

To go, we must let go.

Let go!!!
